Red flags in Washington AC replacement quotes
- Manual J load calculation, not sizing based on the old unit
- Exact model numbers for condenser, coil, and furnace or air handler — and whether they are a matched AHRI pair
- SEER2 / HSPF2 / AFUE ratings stated, not just "high efficiency"
- Line set: replaced, flushed, or reused — critical when changing refrigerant type
- Ductwork condition, static pressure, sealing, and any return-air undersizing
Commonly missing line items: manual j load calculation, new line set or documented flush, return air and duct sizing corrections, permit and inspection fees, condensate pump, pan, and safety switch, warranty registration with the manufacturer.
